What is the meaning of the clause “Booth space plus basic shell scheme” under SBIM 1 (Incentives for participation in international trade exhibitions led by MREPC)? Kindly specify the size of the booth. |
Booth space plus basic shell scheme refers to a standard booth which can be from 9sqm to 18 sqm including basic furniture (discussion table and 2 chairs). |

We would like to participate in MREPC led International trade exhibition in collaboration with MATRADE. Is the deposit of RM1000 included in the participation fee? |

SBIM 2 |

For companies participating in international trade exhibition on their own (SBIM 2) - do they need to seek approval from MREPC prior to their participation? |
Yes, companies are required to submit the name and details about the fair for prior approval before participation. |
SBIM 4 |

Our company attained an international product certification before 12th July 2007. Are we eligible to claim under SBIM 4 (Incentives for attaining internationally recognized product certification)? |
No. |

We plan to upgrade our product’s certification. Is upgrading of product certification covered by SBIM 4? |
Generally, the incentive for attaining internationally recognized product certification (SBIM 4) is only meant for attaining new product certification .
However, if a company proceeds to upgrade the product certification, it can do so provided it has not exhausted the funds available under this incentive. |

Our company started the process of obtaining a product certification for our rubber products. However, we attained the product certificate approval after 12th July 2007. Can we claim for SBIM 4 (Incentive for attaining internationally recognized product certification)? |
A company can claim for SBIM 4 as long as the product certification date of approval is after 12th July 2007 subject to a limit of RM30,000. |

We outsource raw materials from other countries. Are we eligible to claim from any of the incentives offered by MREPC? |
As long as the rubber product is made in Malaysia and is subject to cess, companies are eligible to apply for the incentives offered. |

We are SMG certified. Are we allowed to claim for both SBIM and also SMPG (SMG Market Promotional Grant)? |
A company which is SMG certified can only claim from either the SBIM or SMPG but not both. |

We are not a manufacturer but instead a trader exporting Malaysian manufactured gloves which are subject to cess. Are we eligible to claim for any of the incentives offered by MREPC? |
Traders and exporters of Malaysian manufactured rubber products that are subject to cess are eligible to claim incentives offered. |

We are a Malaysian registered company that manufactures and exports rubber products. However, we are a 100% Japanese company. Are we eligible to claim any of the incentives offered by MREPC? |
According to Clause 3a from the MREPC New Incentive Package, the company is eligible to claim the incentives. |

For purposes of making claims, what is the exchange rate used? Is it the exchange rate
- in the month of the trade exhibition
(eg: Medica-exchange rate in November)?
- upon payment? or;
- upon claims made?
Does MREPC use the exchange rate offered by Bank Negara or Commercial banks? |
MREPC uses the official exchange rate prevailing on the month of the trade exhibition, irrespective of date of payment or claim.
MREPC uses the exchange rate published by Bank Negara.

When is the application form for any claims supposed to be submitted? Is it before or after going for the trade exhibition or mission? |
Application forms will need to be submitted after the trade exhibition or mission. Supporting documents such as air ticket, invoices and hotel bills have to be submitted within 2 months of completion of the trade exhibition. |

We are a trader exporting rubber gloves subject to cess. Can the MITI manufacturing license (one of the supporting documents that need to be submitted for claiming purposes) be replaced with an EE license? |
A trading company can either submit a valid EE License or any manufacturing license that is issued by a regulatory body (state or municipal council) as a replacement to the MITI Manufacturing License. |

For participation at the K-Fair 2007 held from 24th to 31st October 2007, do we follow the incentives given based on the old scheme or the new one? |
Since K-Fair is held after the launch of the MREPC New Incentive Package (12th July 2007), companies are required to follow the new incentive scheme. |
