MREPC had a promotional booth at the biennial Automechanika Kuala Lumpur held in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 23 - 25 March 2017. The event attracted more than 8,000 visitors and 246 exhibitors from China, Europe, Malaysia, Taiwan and Singapore. Besides MREPC's booth, four other Malaysian rubber automotive component manufacturers participated on their own. The majority of enquiries received by MREPC were from local visitors as well as those from Bangladesh, China, Egypt, India, Iraq, Pakistan, Russia and Singapore. Most of the enquiries were on rubber parts for passenger vehicles such as radiator hoses, engine mountings, CV boots, beltings and O-rings. In conjunction with the event, MREPC organised a Buyers' Sourcing Programme on rubber automotive components. There were two potential buyers from Mexico and Indonesia. They were interested in sourcing rubber automotive components such as seals, engine mountings, rubber bushings, weather-strips, moulded rubber parts and rubber parts for brake systems. MREPC also conducted a total of 17 business-matching sessions with 11 manufacturers.
